Install the Software

Supported Systems

  • Windows
  • Macintosh (macOS)

⚠️ Do not connect the USB cable until instructed.

To use your printer, you must install the necessary drivers and software on your computer. Installation usually takes about 20 minutes, depending on your system and selected applications.

Important Before You Begin

  • Close all running applications.
  • Log in as an Administrator.
  • Do not switch users during installation.
  • An internet connection may be required (data charges may apply).
  • Your computer may restart; do not remove the Setup CD-ROM during restart.

Windows Installation

If the USB Cable Is Connected Too Early

  • Windows 7: Disconnect the USB cable and continue with Step 1.
  • Windows Vista / XP: Disconnect the USB cable, click Cancel if prompted, then continue with Step 1.

Note: Easy-WebPrint EX installs automatically. Requires Internet Explorer 7+ and an active internet connection.

Step 1: Prepare the Computer

  1. Ensure the printer is turned off.
  2. Turn on your computer.
  3. Insert the Setup CD-ROM.
  4. If the setup does not start automatically:
    • Open Computer/My Computer
    • Double-click the CD-ROM
    • Run MSETUP4.EXE

Step 2: User Account Control

  • Click Run MSETUP4.EXE
  • Select Yes or Continue when prompted

Step 3: Select Language and Region

  • Choose your country/region and click Next

Step 4: Choose Installation Type

  • Easy Install (recommended): Installs drivers, applications, and manuals automatically
  • Custom Install: Choose specific items to install

Step 5: Start Installation

  • Click Install and follow on-screen instructions

Step 6: USB Connection

  • When prompted, connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable
  • Turn on the printer (USB port is on the back-right side)

Step 7: Paper Setup

  • Extend the Paper Output Tray
  • Load A4 or Letter-size paper in the Rear Tray
  • Click Execute

Step 8: Print Head Alignment

  • Click Align Print Head → Click OK
  • Alignment takes about 3 minutes
  • Do not open the top cover during alignment

Step 9: Completion

  • Remove the printed alignment sheet
  • Click Next

⚠️ If the Alarm light flashes, press RESUME/CANCEL, then click Next

Additional Information:

  • Enter the serial number if not automatically detected
  • User Registration appears only in Europe, Middle East, and Africa
  • Extended Survey Program is optional and does not affect printer operation

Step 10: Finish

  • Click Exit
  • Solution Menu EX launches automatically
  • Remove and safely store the Setup CD-ROM

Optional (Windows XPS Driver):

  • Choose Custom Install → Select XPS Printer Driver

Macintosh (macOS) Installation

Step 1: Turn Off Printer

  • Press the ON button and wait for full shutdown
  • Do not connect USB yet

Step 2: Prepare the Mac

  • Ensure the printer is off
  • Turn on the Mac
  • Insert the Setup CD-ROM

Step 3: Start Setup

  • Open the CD-ROM folder → Double-click Setup
  • Enter administrator name and password

Step 4: Select Language and Region

  • Choose country/region → Click Next

Step 5: Choose Installation Type

Step 6: Install

Step 7: USB Connection

  • When prompted, connect the USB cable
  • Turn on the printer

Step 8: Paper Setup

  • Remove printed paper
  • Clear any alarm lights
  • Complete installation → Click Exit
  • Solution Menu EX starts automatically
  • Remove and store Setup CD-ROM safely
